wow cool page! really like the look of the building and the fall looks great (by which i mean painfull;0)
@TKGB_Cocker: I thought: If there was gonna be action, it should be quite early on, so readers would be able to know what to expect. There should be a fair balance between action-oriented episodes and "down-time". On that note... I read that the originality of Mamoru Oshii's approach to the Patlabor series consisted in shifting the attention to the personnel's down-time between assignments. And that worked very well.
I'm also highly influenced by the way the Evangelion "pilot" (eps. 1 & 2) was set up... with the 2nd episode introducing both introspective, quiet elements as well as incredible action-scenes.
@Gaspode12: Thanks. I'll include some of the reference photos I made for this page in the bonus section (after pg. 22).
Just. Gorgeous. Damn.
Love the soft-but-precise effect your inking evokes. Makes the architecture breathe instead of having that sterile look typical of so many manga city scenes. Outstanding use of shading and line thickness.
Thanks so much. I've been enjoying this particular piece of architecture for almost six years now, so I just had to pay homage. Pardon me for sounding preachy, but: Nothing will improve your own artwork more than love for what you're trying to depict.
